Cat.AI · last updated 27 September 2026
Cat.AI works without an account. If you never sign in, nothing you do in the app leaves your phone — your lessons, your streak and your progress are stored on the device and nowhere else.
Signing in is what makes the app store anything about you, and it exists for one reason: so your progress survives a new phone. There is no advertising in Cat.AI, no analytics SDK, no tracking across other apps or websites, and nothing is sold or shared with data brokers. The app requests no advertising identifier.
What is collected, and when
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name and email address | Only if you sign in with Apple, and only at the first authorisation | To identify your account. Apple lets you hide your real address and relay a private one instead; if you do, that relay address is all we ever see. |
| Your learning progress — lessons finished, scan scores, streak, certificates | While you are signed in | So the same progress appears on your other devices |
| A push notification token | Only if you allow notifications | To send the reminders you asked for. It identifies a device, not a person. |
| Your purchase and what it unlocks | If you buy founding access | So the unlock follows your account. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card, and no payment details reach us. |
| Your email address | Only if you type it into the waitlist form on this website | To tell you when the app is out. Nothing else. |
Who else handles it
These are the only companies involved, and each one does a single job:
- Supabase — hosts the database your account and progress live in.
- Apple — handles signing in and every payment. Sign in with Apple is designed so Apple can tell us who you are without telling us your real email unless you choose to share it.
- RevenueCat — records that a purchase happened, so your unlock can be restored on a new phone.
- Expo — delivers push notifications and app updates.
Cat.AI does not send your data to advertising networks, data brokers or analytics companies, because it does not use any.
Deleting everything
Open the app, go to Account, and tap Delete account. It asks twice, and then it is done: your profile, your progress, your streak, your certificates and your notification token are removed from our servers permanently, on every device.
One thing is not ours to delete. A purchase is held by Apple against your Apple ID, so deleting your Cat.AI account does not cancel it and does not lose it — sign in again and tap Restore, and your founding access comes back.
If you only used the waitlist on this website and never installed the app, email the address below and your entry is removed.
Children
Cat.AI is written for adults and older teenagers. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what is held about you, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Deletion is in the app and takes a few seconds; for anything else, email the address below and you will get an answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EU, the legal basis is the contract between us — the app cannot sync your progress without storing it — and consent for notifications, which you can withdraw in iOS Settings at any time.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who sees it, the date at the top changes and the change is described here.
